Who to Contact

Contact the police or law enforcement to report sexual assault. In many cases, you will be able to speak to an officer that is trained in interacting with sexual assault survivors, and will ensure that you are comfortable and safe. Bellow are several options to begin reporting sexual assault:

Interviewing

Once you contact the police, an interview will be conducted to begin building a case. You will be able to meet an officer at any location of your choosing or at the nearby police station. The purpose of the interview is for the officer to understand the specific details of the incident so that they may be able to help you. The officer will help you in every step in filing the report. This can take several hours however it is necessary in building a case against the abuser.

Continuing the Process

The police department and officer(s) that are handling your case will help you continue the process of reporting the incident(s). It is possible that this may take some time and require patience. If possible, collect and keep all evidence, including any digital evidence such as text messages and DM's, and provide the evidence to the officer that you are in contact with.
